"We called Infrascan Limited after being asked by our Insurance Risk Assessor to arrange a Thermal Imaging Report on all of our switchboards. We found Infrascan to be a very professional company and their people very courteous. They did discover a potentially serious fault with a fuse on one of our switchboards that was far too hot. They provided us with a full written report which we were then able to give to our electricians to enable the fault to be rectified. "We were just a few days out from going unconditional on the purchase of our new house in Beachlands when a friend suggested that we have the place checked out for leaks. We arranged for Infrascan to go and conduct an Infrared survey, where it was discovered that there was a wet area in the basement wall that needs urgent attention, as it supports the upstairs living area. As we loved the house in all other respects, we then approached the vendor with the thermal imaging report in hand, and managed to negotiate a revised agreement at a significant price reduction, amounting to more than enough to have the structural (rotten framing) and leak problem fixed. The comparatively minor cost of the Thermal Imaging report was saved many times over, and we are now confident that our new house is sound and with no leaks. "Just over 2 years ago I purchased a new house on the North Shore. After a bad storm we noticed a small damp area on the skirting board at the side of a ranch slider. We located Infrascan through the internet and they came and conducted a thermal imaging survey which located a moisture problem above the ranch slider which resulted in water tracking down to the skirting on one side. They then further confirmed the results using a moisture meter. It was amazing to see how the thermal imaging camera made the damp areas clearly visible. Further investigation showed that the water was getting in as a result of a faulty flashing directly above the ranch slider, where the roof joins into a wall on the side of an inset deck on the upper story. Initially I was incredibly upset that I had a leak problem in an almost new house, but having the thermal inspection done, has allowed us to go back to the builder who has now rectified the problem, and fortunately this problem has been identified and fixed before the moisture has been able to cause long term and potentially very costly damage. The thermal survey also showed that there were no other problems in the rest of the house.
